Everyone likes to be recognized for a job well done. Everyone enjoys a nice pat on the back for working hard and getting things done the correct way. Everyone enjoys hearing positive feedback. And there is nothing selfish about that. Remember when you were a child getting that report card with straight A’s? You not only felt good about yourself but knew your parents would be proud of your hard work and effort. Maybe your parents rewarded you monetarily, or extended curfews, but most importantly, they rewarded you with kind words of “great job”, “I’m proud of you”, and “keep up the great work”. And that report card not only reflected your excellent work but the diligence and expertise of your teachers to present you with interesting subject matter, and challenged you to interpret it and apply that information in the classroom and throughout life. Your success also meant success for your teacher and your school. J2 Medical wants to be “parents” to all radiological technologists for a job well done with the “Have a Nice X-Ray-Technologist of the Month” initiative. Voted as one of the 50 best careers in 2011 by U.S. News and World Reports, recognition of this profession of excelling technologists is long overdue. The work that technologists do is important on a variety of levels and often goes overlooked by people outside the medical industry and even those within it. With over 300,000 registered technologists with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and thousands of others throughout the world, J2 Medical wants to not only thank you for your work, but showcase your talents and achievements with the rest of the imaging community. The willingness of technologists to go above and beyond what is asked of them is not only a reflection of their own personal work ethic, but that of their facility as well. J2 Medical has been at the heart of designing ground-breaking products for the radiological industry but these products would be useless without skilled technologists putting them to good use. The dedication to this profession allows J2 Medical to continue to provide radiologists with Thoughtful products that we hope will make their profession better and in turn make the lives of their patients better. Thank you again radiologists for your hard work and J2 Medical looks forward to showcasing your talents and achievements on the “refrigerator”.If you know someone whom you would like to nominate for Technologist of the Month, click here.“Have a Nice X-Ray!”

These choices, whether large or small can have astronomical effects on the rest of the day and sometimes our lives. Eating another piece of cake, changing lanes on a busy highway, what shirt to wear, what phone to purchase, what to eat for lunch, what shampoo to use, what radio station to listen, what job to apply for, take the stairs or the elevator, which shoe to tie first and on and on and on. The human brain filters pros and cons so quickly for some choices that it seems no thought at all needs to be put into the final decision. One decision that is automatic and a “no-brainer” for orthopedic surgeons is which image scaling device they should utilize for pre-surgical planning. Read More »
